Three towns

Located in the southeast of Pingjiang County, Yueyang City, Hunan Province, the three towns are located in the middle reaches of the milshui river. The Zhongdong water flows through the market town, and Huafeng mountain stands in the middle of the town. It is named "three cities" because there was a three eye bridge "three eyes divide water" in the market town during the Qingli period of the Song Dynasty. The three towns are the birthplaces of Chinese gluten food, known as "the hometown of Chinese gluten food", "the hometown of spicy bar" and "gluten town". Historical evolution

Originally known as Sanyan bridge, there is a stone arch bridge with three eyes in the city. Because it has already become a prosperous city, it is called Sanshi.

During the period of the Republic of China, the town belonged to Xianzhong township of three districts.

At the beginning of liberation, it was the twelve districts (Xianchong Office) and three townships.

Local celebrities

Sanshi is commonly known as "Sanyan bridge". It is said that it got its name from the legend of "Sanyan Fenshui" in ancient times. It has a long history and profound cultural heritage. Li Yuandu, a poet of the late Qing Dynasty, and Yu Huen, a famous general, were born here. It is a place of beautiful scenery and outstanding people. A group of proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation, such as general Zhong qiguang, general Ouyang Wen, major general Kong Qifan and Yu Guangwen, have embarked on the revolutionary journey from this red land. Mr. Zhou Lingzhao, a famous artist and professor of the Central Academy of fine arts, has spent a wonderful youth in the three cities. A new generation of people living and studying abroad, represented by Weng Siyou, Li Li, Yu Xuanhua and Yu sibing, also spread all over the world.

Industrial Development

The three towns are based on gluten food, tea and gypsum building materials. The construction of the three towns' Food Industrial Park started in September 2009. Sanshi Food Industrial Park is located in the southeast of Pingjiang County, within the scope of Xiasha and shaduan villages of Sanshi Town, 20km away from the county seat and beside the Miluo River. Provincial highway 308 runs through it, 6km away from national highway 106 and 8km away from pingru expressway. The planned area of the park is 1200 mu, and the first phase project is 260 mu. It mainly accepts food production enterprises and related food packaging and food machinery manufacturing enterprises.

A thousand year old camphor is located beside Yutan Dawang temple, Baiyu village, Sanshi town. According to the records of Pingjiang county annals, this tree has been listed as grade I protection by Pingjiang county government for 2000 years.
