Russian Township

Ezhi township is located in the northwest of the county, 210 kilometers away from the county. It covers an area of 313.26 square kilometers and has a population of 4417 (2017). It has jurisdiction over six village committees: Ezhi, Yanda, Reshuitang, rongniang, dongrongda and angoma. The main agricultural products in Ezhi township are highland barley, wheat and pea.

Ezhi township is under the jurisdiction of dege County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. In ancient times, it was ruled by Lincong chieftain. In 1958, it was set up in the Russian township. In 1973, it was changed into the Russian commune. In 1984, it was restored to the Russian township.

History and culture

Rongge temple, located in Ezhi Township, dege County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, was built hundreds of years ago. It was originally the residence of King Gesar's princess. Later, it was transformed into a temple by the great achiever baimarongdoza. The descendants of King Gesar's brother (Jiacha) were also born here. Rongge temple has a Buddhist sutra academy, a closed house, and a main hall. There are three meter high gold-plated bronze statues of lotus peanuts master, 2.5 meter high Bodhisattva stack, gold-plated bronze statues of Tibetan king Chisong Dezan, and 2.5 meter high gold and silver gilded relic Pagoda in the hall. The original King Gesar Sutra hall was destroyed in the cultural revolution. In 1998, the living Buddha of Zhongba (Dawa Dengzhu Rinpoche) vowed to rebuild the great Sutra Hall of King Gesar, let the light of Buddhism break through the darkness of ignorance and bring light to all living beings. In August 2001, the grand Sutra Hall of King Gesar, which was designed and presided over by Ren Boji, was successfully completed. The hall is dedicated to the new statue of thousand lotus masters, the three meter high sandalwood carved gold-plated King Gesar, the thirty brothers of Ling Kingdom, Manjusri, four arm Guanyin and vajrayama hand Bodhisattva, vajrayama stack, Bodhi tower, longevity three, the Tripitaka and the historical murals of King Gesar, and the four On August 27, 2001, Rinpoche presided over the grand opening ceremony of King Gesar's Sutra hall. It is called senzhou daze sect in Tibetan, which means a castle occupied by dragons and tigers. The ancient walls of the site are winding, and the statue of Gesar carved on the wainscot is still clear. The location of the Russian temple in the ancient wall is the original site of the "Songshi jiuliang pagoda tent" in the biography of King Gesar.
