Liziping Yi nationality township

Liziping Yi nationality township is located in the south of Shimian County, Sichuan Province, adjacent to Ganluo County in the East, Yuexi County in the southeast, Mianning County in the south, Anshun Yi nationality township, chaluo Yi nationality township and Huilong Yi nationality township in the north. The land area is 510 square kilometers, and the altitude is 1500-4834 meters. Liziping township government is 35 kilometers away from Shimian County, and the 108 line is 25 kilometers in the township. The total population is 95126 (2017). The name of Liziping is based on the original plum tree in the area, which is called Liziping. Before liberation, it was under the jurisdiction of Huilong Township, Yuexi County. After liberation in 1950, tiezhaizi and menghuocheng in tuowu special zone of Mianning County were assigned to Liziping of Shimian County in 1951. Liziping Yi Autonomous township was established in 1953. Liziping Yi Autonomous township was changed to Liziping Yi Autonomous Township in January 1956. Liziping people's commune was established on October 2, 1958. It was renamed Liziping Yi People's commune management committee in September 1981, and Liziping Yi People's commune management committee was renamed Liziping Yi People's Township People's Government in March 1984.
