Chaer town is located in the north of Gaoping District, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, adjacent to Yushi and Yujia in the East, Longmen and Jiangling in the south, Longcan town in Pengan County in the West and Lixi town in Pengan County in the north. It is 28 kilometers away from the main urban area of Gaoping, covering an area of 38.2 square kilometers and 13477.5 mu of arable land. It has jurisdiction over 13 villages, 1 neighborhood committee and 99 Village (neighborhood) groups, with a total population of 15384, including 14899 agricultural population and 2206 poverty-stricken population. There are 1 nine-year compulsory school, 3 village primary schools and 1 kindergarten; 1 town level Central Health Center, 14 village level health stations, 1 nursing home, 1 town level cultural station and 5 village level cultural activity rooms.

Chaer town has a mild climate, moderate rainfall and sufficient sunshine, which is suitable for the growth of a variety of crops. The main food crops are rice, wheat, corn and sweet potato. The main economic crops are vegetables, peanuts and rape, and the main minor cereals are mung beans, peas and peas. Superior geographical location and rich natural resources provide solid natural conditions for the development of rural economy.

Chaer town is one of the fruit and rural tourism base towns in Gaoping District. It has more than 8000 mu of high-quality nectarine and other summer fruits, covering 18 villager groups in 3 villages. Dashanling fruit cooperative of Chaer Town, the first farmers' specialized cooperative organization in Nanchong City, has 332 members and has been rated as a provincial model cooperative for two consecutive years. Relying on fruits in summer season, Chaer town has vigorously developed rural tourism, and has held six flower appreciation festivals and nectarine picking festivals in succession. During the "double festival", through rich and colorful theme activities, Chaer town has attracted more than 100000 tourists annually, achieved an average annual comprehensive tourism income of more than 13 million, and greatly increased people's income for many years.

Chaer town pays attention to the development of industries to enrich the people. It has planted 1000 mu of prickly ash, 300 mu of winter peach, 1200 mu of watermelon, 800 mu of ginger, 1500 mu of red sorghum, 1100 mu of lotus root, 1000 mu of walnut, 200 mu of blood orange and 200 mu of traditional Chinese medicine, with an average annual output value of more than 50 million.

The traffic of Chaer town is convenient. Chengdu Dachuan railway and Nanchong Dazhu Liangping Expressway pass through the town. The roads in the town extend in all directions. Since 2012, 72.39 kilometers of village groups and industrial roads have been hardened. Each village has realized the social cement road, and some villages have realized the household cement road.

In recent years, Chaer town has been commended by the municipal and district party committees and governments for many times. For three consecutive years, it has won the first prize of non Park Township in the target assessment of the whole district. In 2014, it won the first prize of non Park Township in the district in increasing agricultural income. In 2012, tianjinggou village was named "provincial beautiful demonstration village" by Sichuan provincial government.
