Angu town

Angu town is located on the South Bank of Dadu River in Leshan City, Sichuan Province, 5km away from the central city of Leshan, with an altitude of 374m. Within the scope of Leshan high tech Industrial Development Zone, it is a provincial pilot town for small town construction. It covers an area of 50.17 square kilometers and governs one community committee and 17 administrative villages. The total population of the town is 28790 (2017). The cultivated area is 19470 mu.

The market town of Angu town covers an area of 1.2 square kilometers, with three main streets: Heping Street, Minzhu street and Shiji street. Angu town is close to Dadu River. Potan dam, Mojiang dam, Huilong dam, Fuxing dam and Douluo dam run through the whole town. It is rich in groundwater resources. The climate is mild. The annual average temperature is 17.2-17.4 ℃, the annual rainfall is 1393.6 mm, the annual sunshine hours is 1174.9 hours, and the temperature of the coldest day is always above 0 ℃.

There are historical materials exhibition hall of the Palace Museum's southward migration, ecological sightseeing agricultural tourist attractions such as "bailanyuan", "Lvyuan" and "Mountain Park".

On December 13, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved Leshan City to adjust the administrative divisions of 8 counties (cities, districts) including Shizhong District (Chuanfu Civil Administration [2019] No. 20): Chezhen was abolished and its administrative area was put under the jurisdiction of Angu Town, and Angu town's civil administration was located at No. 1, Qianxi street.

Angu town is a hybrid rice seed production base in Leshan, with an annual seed production area of 3000 mu. Angu town chicken cooperative has about 1.7 million commercial layers, with a daily egg production of more than 100000 Jin. The fruit production base, led by Angu Fruit Association, covers an area of 2500 mu, with an annual output of 8 million kg of high-quality fruits such as Yiyu Mandarin, Ponkan Mandarin and Qingjia navel orange. Large scale pig raising in Angu town has achieved initial success, with more than 20000 commercial pigs sold annually.
