Rongding town

Rongding town is a town under the jurisdiction of Mabian Yi Autonomous County, Leshan City, Sichuan Province. It is located in the northeast of the county, 23 kilometers away from the county government and 483 meters above sea level. It covers an area of 95.81 square kilometers and has a population of 12868 (2017). Provincial Highway MA (Bian) Tong (Jiezi) highway transit.

Rongding town is located in the north gate of Mabian Yi Autonomous County, 24 kilometers away from the county, covering an area of 95.81 square kilometers. It borders Lidian town in Muchuan County in the East, Fengcun Township and Yangcun Township in Muchuan County in the north, Jiangmiao Township in the west, Shiliang Township and Xiaxi town in the south.

Historical evolution

In 1958, it was the Rongding administrative area of Shuangxi commune; in 1959, it was the Rongding commune; in 1984, it was built in Rongding township; in 1988, it was changed into Rongding town.

The terrain is high in the West and low in the East, and the terrain is distributed in low mountain valley area, second half mountain area and high mountain area. The lowest altitude is 400 meters and the highest is 1369 meters.
