Daxing Township

Daxing Township is under the jurisdiction of Songpan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. Daxing Township is located in the southeast of the county, 19 kilometers away from the county government. The township covers an area of 312.58 square kilometers and governs five administrative villages with 1170 people (2017). The forest coverage area is 186000 mu, the grassland area is 237000 mu, the cultivated land area is 6001 mu, the conversion of farmland to forest is 1161.5 mu, and the barren hills and slopes are 126000 mu.

On December 18, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved Aba Prefecture to adjust the administrative divisions of 10 counties (cities) including malkang city (Chuanfu Civil Affairs [2019] No. 22): the administrative region of shangnami village in Dazhai township was put under the jurisdiction of Daxing Township, and the people's Government of Daxing Township was stationed in Yunchang Village No. 1.

General situation

It covers an area of 312.58 square kilometers and has a population of 1170 (2017). National Highway 213 passes through. It has jurisdiction over five village committees: Rongchang, Dibai, Mushi, dinggu and xianami. the township government is located 42 kilometers away from the county seat. Daxing Township is adjacent to Minjiang Township in the East and Huya Township in Pingwu County in the West. There are 17693 large and small livestock in the township. The sown area is 4474 mu, including 4200 mu of grain crops and 70 mu of cash crops, with a total output of 925 tons.

Historical evolution

In 1951, the Tibetan Autonomous Region with big surnames was established; in 1956, the township with big surnames was established; in 1973, the commune was changed; and in 1984, the township was restored.

Daxing Township mainly produces wheat, highland barley and broad bean. It is a semi agricultural and semi pastoral area. Specialty musk, astragalus, rhubarb and other precious Chinese herbal medicine.
