Cangbu Street
Cangbu street is located in Xinzhou District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. It is one of the three old towns in Xinzhou District (county). It is located in the northwest of the territory, bordering on daoshui River in the East, Wuhu Lake in the west, Huangpi in the north, Hong'an in the north, Yangluo Development Zone in the South and daoshui in the East. The whole territory is about 6 kilometers long from north to south, 3.5 kilometers wide from east to west, and covers an area of 170 square kilometers, including 6161 hectares of cultivated land and a population of 1 67496 (2010). It has jurisdiction over 6 communities and 61 administrative villages. The office is located in cangbu street.

In August 2020, cangbu was selected as the first batch of cultural heritage protection of place names in Wuhan.

In 1951, the Tenth District of Xinzhou county (cangbu) was established, which governs three towns of cangbu, kongbu and Zhoupu, and 15 townships of Bali, Caimiao, YangPei, duwu, Hongshan, Chenji, Diwei, Wuhe, Hekou, Antarctica, Sanshan, Linjiang, Chadian, Zhoupu and mishai. Fangyang Township belongs to the ninth district (Liji). In 1954, cangbu town was divided into county jurisdiction. In 1956, the district system was abolished and cangbu guidance group was set up, with jurisdiction over Bali, Zhoupu, Antarctica, YangPei and Bipu townships; cangbu town is still under the jurisdiction of the county; Fangyang Township belongs to Liji guidance group. Cangbu commune was established in 1958, cangbu town is under the jurisdiction of the commune. In 1984, it was changed into cangbu district (Zhoupu Town, Nanji Township, Bipu Township, YangPei township) and cangbu town (county). In 1986, the former Nanji township was merged into cangbu Town, and the former Bipu and YangPei townships were merged into Zhoupu town.
In 1996, cangbu town covers an area of 21.5 square kilometers, with a population of 20000. History and culture
It has a long history and superior geographical conditions. The annual water surface of Wuhu Lake in the southwest of the town is 67.9 square kilometers. In 109 BC (the second year of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty), cangbu was named "Qilong town" (today cangbu has Qilong Street); in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Huang Zu, the governor of Jiangxia, led troops to practice in the lake, so it was named Wuhu, also known as Huanghan Lake. In 882 A.D. (the second year of Zhonghe of emperor Fu of Tang Dynasty), it was renamed "Zhonghe town".
