Gesala Yi nationality township

Gesala Yi nationality township is located in the northwest corner of Yanbian County, Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province. There are Gesala stone forest and other scenic spots. It is a combined stone forest. Limestone, floor drain, meadow, lichen, moss and virgin forest are integrated into one. It is a rare geological wonder in the world.

Translating "Gesala" into Chinese is "a place to play". The landscape of the scenic spot is composed of Tiankeng floor drain, karst landscape, alpine meadow and Yi folk custom. The mountains here are continuous, the peaks and turns, sometimes loess high slope, sometimes dense jungle, Camellia million, geological and geomorphological changes. A senior geologist once said that "the landscape here is comparable to that of Jiuzhai Huanglong". the mountain meadow is undulating, and the low pansongqiu is powerful. Within the area of more than 300 square kilometers in Yanbian Yankou and depression, there are more than 1000 funnel groups with different diameters and depths. The larger funnel group covers an area of more than 5000 square meters, with a depth of more than 30 meters, and the smaller funnel group covers an area of more than 400 square meters, with different depths. Among these caves, Tiandong No.1 is particularly attractive. Under the cliff of more than 200 meters, 10 seconds after throwing stones into the vertical cave, you can hear the sound of roaring water, which is about 155 meters deep. Five karst caves of different sizes around the cave are full of the color of Yi nationality culture, such as Lingze cave. The karst landscape in the cave is unique and novel, including "Guanyin hall", "Luohan group", "camel peak", "lion mountain", "Luohan group", etc. in 2001, it was listed in the tourism development plan of Yanbian county and developed as an eco-tourism area. In June 2003, as a key tourism development project of the whole city, the Municipal Tourism Bureau signed a planning contract with Sichuan tourism planning and Design Institute. In 2004, it began to develop and construct on a high starting point, high standard and large scale. Below Gesala is Yumen Town, where flower and Fish Festival is held every year.
