Fengping Township
Fengping Township, subordinate to Fengjie County of Chongqing, is located in the southeast of Fengjie County, bordering Chang'an Township and Hefeng Township in the East, Tiankeng Dixie scenic spot in the south, Wuma town in the West and Xinmin Town across the river in the north. It is 21.1km away from Fengjie County Government, with a total area of 112.55km2.
In the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, Fengping Township belonged to Nanan Duli; in October 1983, it was changed from Fengping commune to Fengping township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of Feng Ping Township was 18623. As of June 2020, Fengping township has jurisdiction over one community, seven administrative villages and four groups of miaoba community under the Township People's government.
Food crops in Fengping township are mainly potato, corn and sweet potato; animal husbandry is mainly raising pigs, sheep, cattle and poultry. In 2018, Fengping Township had 29 industrial enterprises and 5 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, it belongs to the south bank. During the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to fengjiaba township.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the Qing system was adopted. In 1919, it belonged to Fengping regiment. In the 19th year of the Republic of China (1930), it belonged to Fengzi Township and was stationed in fengjiaba. In 1933, Fengzi township was divided into Fengyi and Fenger townships, belonging to the fourth district. In 1935, it was named Feng Lianbao. In 1936, it belonged to the third district. In February of 1940, Fengzi township was restored; in August of the same year, Fengzi Township and Xiaosi Township were merged into Fengping township.
In December 1955, Qingquan township was merged into Fengping township.
In November 1958, Fengping township was changed into Fengping commune.
In October 1983, Fengping commune was changed into Fengping township.
In September 1992, Mingtang township was merged into Fengping township.
In October 1995, Mingtang township was separated from Fengping township for reconstruction.
In July 2004, Mingtang township was merged into Fengping township.
