Wanfang town

Wanfang Town, subordinate to Nancheng County, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the northwest of Nancheng County, adjacent to Xujia town in the East, Jianchang town in the South and Linchuan District in the northwest. Xujiang river runs through the east of the town from south to north. It covers an area of 168.9 square kilometers and governs one community and 14 administrative villages. In late 2018, there were 29 thousand and 500 registered residence population in Wan Fang town.

History of construction

During the period of the Republic of China, it was divided into Wannian Township and yungai district.

In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to two districts. In 1958, yuekou administrative region was merged and called Wanfang commune. In 1961, yuekou was set aside. In 1965, Wanfang commune was renamed Miaoqian commune. In 1966, it was renamed Wanfang commune again. In 1968, it was merged with yuekou and called Qianjin commune. In 1970, yuekou was set aside and called Wanfang commune again. In 1984, Wanfang commune was changed into Wanfang township. In May 2000, it was renamed Wanfang commune In October 2001, Wanfang township was abolished and transferred to Jianchang town; in April 2005, yuekou township was abolished and Wanfang town was built from the original yuekou Township and Jianchang town.
