Shangyuanguan town belongs to Chenggu County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the Midwest of Chenggu County. It borders dongjiaying town in the East, Erli town in the south, Shengshui Town in Nanzheng District in the west, Liulin town and Hanjiang River in the north. Its total area is 62 square kilometers.
Shangyuanguan town once had four gates and four passes, known as "small city solid", which is a famous historical and cultural town. There is a national 3A scenic spot, Nansha Lake National Water Conservancy Scenic Spot, and two scenic spots, wangjingtai and shangyuanguan old street.

Historical evolution
In 1621, in order to avoid floods and burglars, a castle was built in the high place of the old shangyuanguan street. Because it is located in the south of the Ancient Music City, it is called Nanle castle. Later, due to the construction of Shangyuan temple, it was named Shangyuan temple.
In the Qing Dynasty, nanlebao and nanlebai were located at 24 South Road.
In 1930, it belonged to nanlepu, minjiazhuang and nanbapai.
In the 28th year of the Republic of China (1939), it was one of the ten guarantees of Nanle town.
