Jiuchi Township, belonging to Wanzhou District of Chongqing, is located in the western suburb of Wanzhou District, adjacent to pailou street in the East, Gaoliang town in the south, Zhushan Township in the West and Taibai street in the north. In the Qing Dynasty, Jiuchi Township belonged to the top ten of sanzhengli in Wanxian County; in October 1983, it was changed from Jiuchi commune to Jiuchi township. Jiuchi township is named after the legend of Jiuyan mineral spring.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the top ten of sanzhengli in Wanxian county.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to Qingquan town.
Before 1951, it belonged to Longbao township.
In June 1952, Jiuchi township was built.
In 1960, Jiuchi township was changed into Jiuchi commune.
In October 1983, Jiuchi commune was changed into Jiuchi township.
In December 1998, it belongs to Wanzhou District.
