Tanxi town

Tanxi town is located in the southwest of Lufeng City, downstream of Luohe River. It is adjacent to Shangying town in the East, Ketang town and Chikeng town in Haifeng County in the west, jieshiwan in the South and Xingdu Economic Development Experimental Zone in the north. The town covers a total area of 73.48 square kilometers (2017), with a population of 53415 (2017), and has jurisdiction over 14 Village (neighborhood) committees.

There are many places of interest in Tanxi town. Faliu mountain is located in the north of Tanxi town. The shape of the mountain peak is beautiful. On cloudy days, stratus clouds float across the mountainside, just like the fairyland. Its name is "Faxiu Tingyun".

General situation

With good geographical location and convenient transportation, Guangshan highway and Shenshan Expressway span the whole territory, mild climate, spring like all the year round, rich natural resources, flat and fertile land, and relatively developed agriculture, it is one of the main grain producing areas in Lufeng City.

Economic situation

Since the reform and opening up in Tanxi Town, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, sideline trade, industry and Commerce have been developed in an all-round way, and a new situation of rapid development has appeared. In 2000, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the town was 134 million yuan. Tanxi town vigorously develops "three high" agriculture, with thousands of hectares of planting and breeding bases for various vegetables, fruits, aquatic products and three birds. In terms of industry, Jinfeng villa, Jintai paper products factory, aluminum alloy foundry and other projects have been introduced into the town. In recent years, the town has introduced a number of new projects, such as drinking water plant, jewelry processing factory and hardware processing factory.

Qingfeng Temple

Qingfeng temple is located in wumianling in the north of Tanxi town. Qingfeng temple was founded in 785, the first year of Zhenyuan in Tang Dynasty. It is an early Buddhist temple in eastern Guangdong. Da Dian (731 – 824) paid homage to Huiming, and then studied in Shitou and xiqian. He went to Luofu waterfall rock to learn the great fearless Dharma. Later, he traveled to Nanyue Mountain and built a stone room at the foot of Faxiu mountain to live in the temple. He began to speak the Western Buddhist Dharma. According to legend, after the Great Britain monk built the temple, it was night, and there was a light in the distance, so it was named "light temple". A few years later, Da Dian left the temple and traveled to the East. Faxiu mountain is called "faliu mountain" by later generations for the reason that the Great Britain monk initiated the temple to preach the Western Buddhism. Qingfeng temple is located on the mountainside 800 meters above sea level, with the mountain behind it. It faces the valley and is full of clouds and rain. After several repairs, it has more than 20 temples, halls, Buddhist temples and monk's houses, 3 arch bridges and 5 stone towers. Since the Tang, song, Ming and Qing Dynasties, Qingfeng temple has been handed down from generation to generation. Its successive presiders include Dadian, Qingyin, Shuyin, Zhizhong and qiuzeng. Qingfeng mountain area is rich in pine forests, colorful flowers, jagged rocks, various forms, spring water Ding Dong, long flow, ancient well spring, sweet entrance.
