Jiepao town

Jiepao town is subordinate to Suixi County, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, connecting Yangqing town in the East, Yanggan town in the south, Beibu Bay in the West and Anpu town in Lianjiang City in the north. The government registered residence at 1 Front Office Road, bounded by gun Town, with an administrative area of 116.8 square kilometers and a household registration population of 82657 (2018).

Jiepao town originally belonged to the Second District of Suixi County. In 1953, another District 11 was set up. In 1957, it was divided into jiepao, laoma and ZhouLing. In the spring of 1958, three townships were merged into jiepao township. In the autumn of the same year, the township was withdrawn and Dongfeng commune was established. In the spring of 1959, heyanggan district was called Hongqi commune. In the autumn of 1961, the red flag commune was withdrawn and the boundary artillery area was restored. In December 1986, the district was removed and the town was built. In 2003, the former Beitan town was merged with jiepao town.

In 2018, the GDP of jiepao town was 1.85 billion yuan. In 2017, there were 125 enterprises in jiepao Town, with 3556 employees, including 13 industrial enterprises and one above scale. In 2018, there were 13 industrial enterprises in jiepao town. There are 10 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

History and culture

Jiepao town is the old revolutionary base of Suixi. In 1926, Deng Chengqiu, the leader of the Suixi County Party organization of the Communist Party of China, organized the peasant association here; in 1939, the Western District Committee of the Communist Party of China was established here; in 1944, the Suixi County Party committee of the Communist Party of China led the Anti Japanese armed forces to revolt in laoma village; in 1945, the Northwest District democratic government was established in Shanjia village. There are 19 natural villages in jiepao Town, such as shannei, Shanjia, laoma, Jinwei and Tongwen. They are revolutionary villages during the Anti Japanese war.

The county-level cultural relics protection units in jiepao town include the tombs area from Eastern Han Dynasty to Sui and Tang Dynasties near xibianshan village, the old site of laoma uprising, and the old site of shanjiaxin village of Northwest District democratic government. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, there are four revolutionary martyrs monuments, namely laoma, Shanjia, Tongwen and Beitan.
