Gulao town

Gurao Town, belonging to Chaoyang District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province, is located in the northwest of Chaoyang District and the south foot of Xiaobei mountain, at the junction of Chaoyang, Puning and Jieyang. The total area is 70.29 square kilometers. In late 2018, the registered residence of 184675 people was in the town of Gu Rao. As of June 2020, there are 5 communities and 22 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of Gulao town.

In 1956, for the Valley Rao township. In 1983, it was changed to Gurao district. In 1986, it was established as Gulao town. Gurao is one of the key hometown of overseas Chinese in Chaoyang District. In October 2019, Gurao town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

In 2019, the total industrial output value of Gurao town is 36.76 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 2.34%, including 27.64 billion yuan of industrial output value above Designated Size, with a year-on-year growth of 1.3%; the total foreign trade export is 271 million US dollars, with a year-on-year growth of 13.06%; the general budget revenue is about 247 million yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 9.5%. There are 216 new enterprises and 2708 individual businesses in the town.

Chao opera

Chaozhou Opera, also known as Chaoyin opera, is an ancient local opera performed in Chaoshan dialect. It is a branch of southern opera in song and Yuan Dynasties. It has a history of more than 430 years, mainly distributed in eastern Guangdong, Southern Fujian, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Chaoyang Yingge dance

There were 108 dancers originally, which showed the story of Liangshanpo's hero fighting Daming mansion in makeup. Chiduling scenic spot is located in the northeast of xiaobeishan, behind Shenyang village. It's an old sheep's intestines trail. When you step on the top of Chidu ridge, you can have a panoramic view of chiliao. According to the history, the ancient chiduling was a vital population route for chaopuhui and other places in ancient times, and a temporary post station for military strategy in Tang Dynasty. It is said that when Han Yu was appointed as a thorn official in Chaozhou, he went to "Lingshan Temple" to visit Da Dian three times through chiduling.
