Mingang town

Zanggang Zhen, a town under the jurisdiction of Xiong County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is managed by xiong'an new district. It is located in the middle of Xiong County, 12.5km away from the county in the southwest, bordering Shuangtang Township in the East, Zhanggang Township in the south, Xiongzhou town in the West and Mijiawu town in the north. The maximum distance between East and West is 9.8km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 7.5km, with a total area of 45.03km2. In late 2018, the total population of the gang registered residence was 36932.

Mingang town was built in the early Ming Dynasty. In May 1940, it was divided into Xiongxian county. In 1958, Mingang people's commune was established. In 1984, it was rebuilt into Mingang township. In 1985, Mingang town was rebuilt. As of June 2020, Mingang town has jurisdiction over 29 administrative villages, and the town people's government is located in Minbei village.

In 2013, the total agricultural output value of Mingang town was 58 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 9169 yuan. The total industrial output value is 2.439 billion yuan. In 2018, there were 95 industrial enterprises in Mingang Town, including 11 large-scale enterprises and 10 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

In the northern part of Mingang Town, chenjialiu North drainage irrigation canal runs across the whole town; the southern part of Hongdao flows across the whole town, with a total length of 7 km.

The most serious hail disaster occurred at 21:00 on August 18, 1987, with a maximum hail size of 50 mm and a duration of 30 minutes. The maximum wind force was 10 and gust was 1, involving more than 20 villages in four townships, including Mijiawu Town, Daying Town, Mingang town and Shuangtang Town, with a disaster area of 116000 mu.
