Binhai street, subordinate to Longhua District, Haikou City, Hainan Province, is located in the north of Longhua District, bordering Zhongshan street in the East, Jinmao street in the west, Datong Street in the south, Haidian River in the north and Meilan District in the north. The maximum distance between the East and the west is 2 km, and the maximum distance between the north and the south is 1.8 km, with a total area of 3.6 square kilometers. The land area is 3.59 square kilometers, accounting for 99.72%; the water area is 0.008 square kilometers, accounting for 0.28%.
In March 1974, it belonged to Xinhua District. In June 1989, Binhai sub district office of Xinhua District was established. In May 2003, it was renamed Binhai sub district office of Longhua District. By the end of 2011, the total population of Binhai sub district was 64000, including 46000 urban permanent residents and 18000 floating population. As of June 2020, Binhai street has jurisdiction over 10 communities, and the sub district office is located at 88 Yuhe Road, Bazao community.
At the end of 2011, the total revenue of Binhai street was 500000 yuan, the same as that of the previous year.
Historical evolution
In 1947, it belonged to Guanlong Township, the first district of Qiongshan county.
In June 1959, it belonged to Guanlong town of Haikou City. In October of the same year, it was removed from the town and built into a district, belonging to yanzao village and Bazao village in the second district.
In 1955, it belongs to Yixing sub district office of Haikou Municipality.
In May 1960, the office was closed to the Western commune.
In January 1962, it belonged to Yixing commune.
In March 1967, it belonged to Hongwei commune.
In 1968, it belonged to the Revolutionary Committee of the red guards.
In March 1974, it belonged to Xinhua District.
In June 1989, Binhai sub district office of Xinhua District was established.
In May 2003, it was renamed Binhai sub district office of Longhua District.
