Bazi town

Bazi town is located in the north of Wengyuan County, adjacent to Shixing County of Shaoguan, Lianping County of Heyuan and QUANNAN County of Jiangxi Province, covering an area of 382.98 square kilometers (2017), with a total cultivated area of 39636 mu. Provincial Highway S244 and S245 run through the town. Bazi hexizheng was an old county in ancient times. Bazi Wei was originally a heshiba. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, someone built a "hengnian tobacco shop" on feimaba. Later, the number of shops gradually increased. In order to facilitate transportation, the masses donated money to build "Huaqiao" and "Baima Temple" to form Xiaoxu town. Because the town was built on the stone dam, it got its name "baziwu", and later extended to the name of the local administrative region. Under the jurisdiction of 22 village committees, 2 neighborhood committees and 1 comprehensive farm, a total of 331 villager groups, 741 Mining Department is located in Zhongdong village. The town has a total population of 41710 people (in 2017), with a forest area of more than 470000 Mu and a cultivated land area of 63000 mu.

In 1958, jianbazi commune, in 1977, jianyanzhuang commune. In 1983, it was changed to Bazi district and Yanzhuang district. In 1986, it was changed to Bazi town and Yanzhuang township. In 1993, Yanzhuang town was built from township. In 1996, Bazi Town, with an area of 142 square kilometers and a population of 30000, governed 13 administrative districts (administrative villages) including Sankeng, Xinmei, Furong, Meicun, Shangai, Huixing, Huiling, Jinxing, Zhentian, Shangdong, Lanhe, Liangxing and Zhenzhu; Yanzhuang Town, with an area of 243 square kilometers and a population of 14000, governed 9 administrative districts (administrative villages) including Qunhui, Rao village, Zhongdong, Banxi, Liling, Zhundong, Yixin, Luxi and Jinji Administrative district (administrative village). At the end of 2004, Yanzhuang town was abolished and merged into bazai town. The town government is located in bazai, with jurisdiction over 22 administrative villages and 2 neighborhood committees, covering an area of 384 square kilometers and a total population of 48826.

As the second largest town in Wengyuan, bazai town is rich in labor, land, water, mineral resources, bamboo and wood resources. Mineral resources include fluorite, rare earth, uranium, manganese, potash feldspar, diabase, etc.; bamboo resources now have 1.25 million cubic meters of live wood and 50000 mu of Phyllostachys pubescens base; water resources have reached 12500 kW, and 11000 kW has been developed; land resources still have more than 1000 mu of gentle slope for development.

Economics

The town implements the agricultural industry adjustment idea of "orange in the south, tea in the north, plum in the northeast, sugarcane and mulberry in the west, vegetables in the central area, and bamboo along the road to the hills". Wengyuan County succeeded in planting 50 mu of Japanese white gourd in Sanhua of Shangai and Longxian towns of bazai Town, expanding the planting area of 300 mu. Huang Chuzheng of Jiangwei town has invested more than 300000 yuan to rent 100 mu of land in Luxi village of Bazi town to grow Japanese small Donggua. All the preparation work has been ready, and the seedlings will be planted in mid April. It is understood that Japanese white gourd has only 600 mu planted in China, of which 300 mu is planted in Wengyuan County. Japanese white gourd can be put on the market in early June. It is rich in famous and high-quality products, mainly including: 1 Sanhua Plum, mainly distributed in Sanhua. 2 sugar cane is mainly distributed in luxijing, Shangai, Qingtian Shuinen. 3 wengba Jinji tea, which was first produced in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty, has a history of nearly 500 years, and its planting is mainly distributed in Jinji village of Bazi town. The cocoons are mainly distributed in Shangdong and aoxia, forming a sericulture base headed by bazai. Shiitake mushroom, mainly distributed in Yanzhuang, has more meat and unique flavor, which is comparable with Beigu mushroom. Sanhuali, wengba Golden Chicken tea and Lentinus edodes have become famous brands and are sold in and out of the province.

scenic spot

There is a Neolithic cultural site of Furong xiajiaolong. Yanzhuang octagonal tower located in Yanzhuang Yixin village, Bazi Town, Wengyuan County, the octagonal tower was built in 1701, the 40th year of Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty. It has five floors and is 26.7m high. Except the first floor is built with sandy stones, it is the highest existing ancient tower in the county. It is a county-level cultural relic protection unit. Yanzhuang reservoir is named for its location in Yanzhuang township. It was built in 1971. With a catchment area of 37.5 square kilometers and a total storage capacity of 21.4 million cubic meters, it has become an open tourist attraction, Shangdong reservoir, Jinji baishuizhai and Huiling hot spring.
