Nanhuzhou town

Nanhuzhou town is located in the west gate of Xiangyin, 38 kilometers away from the county in the East, surrounded by water on three sides, facing Yiyang across the river by Zishui, adjacent to Xinquan town in the South and Xiangbin town in the East. It is the hometown of Gao Jiancheng, a flood fighting hero. In June 2016, our town was merged from 38 villages, 1 community and 5 fishing grounds into 12 administrative villages, 5 communities and 4 fishing grounds. There are 474 villager groups in the town, with a total population of 65000 people. The rainwater collection area (including the Bund) is 150 square kilometers, the cultivated area is 73000 mu, and the water surface is 12000 mu. It is a typical land of fish and rice in Dongting Lake area.

Historical evolution

After 1949, it was the Fourth District of Yuanjiang County. In 1954, it was divided into Xiangyin County and 18 districts. In 1956, it was withdrawn and merged into Nanhu and Saitou townships, and in 1958, it was the satellite people's commune. In 1960, it was divided into Nanhu and Saitou communes. In 1961, it was restored and governed by Nanhu, Yanzhi, Saitou and Heping communes. In 1984, nanhuzhou market was built as nanhuzhou town. In 1995, nanhuzhou Town, Yanzhi Township, Saitou Township and Heping Township merged into nanhuzhou town. Covering an area of 102 square kilometers (2017), the town people's government is located in nanhuzhou.

In 1995, nanhuzhou town guided farmers into the city, invested more than 16 million yuan to build 25 commercial houses, 24000 square meters, two farmers' markets, 2500 square meters of building area, 1500 tons of daily water supply capacity of waterworks, 18000 square meters of hardened streets, 2800 meters of new sewers and 2100 meters of high-voltage lines. In terms of economy, we have set up three rice processing plants, four prefabricated board factories, six furniture factories, one famous and special aquatic products sales company, and four food processing plants for dried vegetables, spicy food and sauced salted duck. The newly invested Nanhu duck processing plant has an annual processing capacity of more than 500000 ducks and an annual output value of more than 10 million yuan. There are nearly 200 commercial and trading households, including 104 in the clothing industry, 16 in the catering industry, 15 in the hardware and electrical industry, 20 in the cotton industry, and 21 in the repair industry. Xiangyin NO.4 middle school has a town with 614 students. There is a hospital with 38 medical technicians.
