Xinhua Street

Xinhua Street, located in Yicheng District, Zhumadian City, Henan Province, is adjacent to Leshan Road in the west, railway in the East, Jiefang Road in the South and Xuesong road in the north, with an area of 1.7 square kilometers and a population of 29421 (2010). It got its name from Xinhua street.

In 2018, Xinhua sub district office won the award of Zhumadian City for building a national civilized city and a national health city.

Historical evolution

Xinhua Street is the earliest main street in its jurisdiction. in 1923, it belonged to beiqibao, Zhumadian special district, Queshan county. In 1928, it belonged to the joint traffic insurance office of the Second District of Queshan. In 1947, it belonged to Zhumadian Town Office of Queshan county. In 1948, it belonged to Zhumadian City and was the second town office. It was the second district government in 1951. In 1953, it belonged to Zhumadian City, with traffic and liberation Street governments. In 1955, it was divided into Xinhua, communications, Heping, Fuqiang and Jiefang offices. In 1958, it belonged to the seventh administrative area of Queshan red people's commune, first the Xinhua brigade, and then the Xinhua office. In 1968, it belonged to Zhumadian town and was the office of Xinhua street. In 1982, it was still known as Xinhua Street office in Zhumadian City. In 2000, after the city was established, it belonged to Yicheng District and was officially renamed Xinhua Street Office of Yicheng District. In January 2005, the division of some offices in Yicheng District was adjusted, and the new Xinhua Street office was adjusted to the west of Beijing Guangzhou line, the north of Jiefang Road, the east of Leshan Road and the south of Xuesong road.
