Jiegou town is located at the southernmost end of Yucheng County, the junction of two provinces and three counties. It is adjacent to Bozhou City, Anhui Province, the hometown of Huatuo in the south, Xiayi County, Henan Province, the hometown of Confucius in the East, Mulan station of Beijing Kowloon Railway and Shanghe and Shangbo expressways in the West. With a total area of 67 square kilometers (2017), the town has 25 administrative villages, 123 natural villages and 255 villager groups. The town has a long history. In ancient times, it was the South fortress of the state of Yu. The characteristic agriculture of the town is mainly tobacco planting.

Evolution of organizational system

The town is named Jiegou because there is a ditch on the border of Yu state which is several meters wide (now the dividing line between Henan Province and Anhui Province) 2 kilometers south of the town. In the 18th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, Jiegou belonged to Bozhou Prefecture, and later to guide Prefecture of Nanbo (Gushu county). During the Anti Japanese War and the war of liberation, it was the Second District Office of Bozhou. Jiegou township was established in 1955, the commune was changed in 1958, the township was changed in 1983, and the township was set up in 1986.

The main specialties are presidential powder, Angora rabbit hair, etc. Baohe rice drying platform is a tourist attraction.

Economics

In 1986, under the guidance of the government, tobacco planting was vigorously promoted, covering an area of 11500 mu. Original name

In May 1351, Han Shantong and Liu Futong, the leaders of the red scarf army in the peasant uprising army, revolted in Yingzhou (Fuyang City, Anhui Province), and Guo Zixing led the response, thus ringing the death knell for the rule of the Dayuan state.
