Bikeqi Town, belonging to tumetzuoqi, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the middle of tumetzuoqi, adjacent to taigemu town in the East, beishizhou Township in the south, chasuqi town in the west, deshenggou Township in Wuchuan County in the north, 14 kilometers from tumetzuoqi government in the west, 31 kilometers from Hohhot City in the East, with a total area of 454.17 square kilometers.

During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, villages were formed in the area of Bikeqi town. In 2006, binzhouhai township was merged into Bikeqi town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of Biqi town was 38481. In 2019, Bikeqi town governs one community and 44 administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 43 industrial enterprises in Bikeqi Town, including 3 above scale enterprises and 13 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

History of construction

During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, villages were formed in the area of Bikeqi town.

In the 33rd year of Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty (1768), the village was transformed into a town, and a patrol inspector was set up under the Guihua city hall.

In the early years of the Republic of China, it has become an important town in Suixi.

In 1939, guihuan county set up the fourth autonomous supervision office in Bikeqi.

In 1950, it was renamed Bikeqi town.

In 1958, Bikeqi commune was changed.

In 1962, the two communes of bingzhouhai and Jielao were separated.

In 1984, Bikeqi commune was transformed into Bikeqi township.

In 1986, Bikeqi township was transformed into a town.

In 2001, Qingshan township was abolished and four villages, Xiliang, laodaogou, wulanban and sugaiying, were transferred to Bikeqi town.

In 2006, binzhouhai township was merged into Bikeqi town.

"Bikeqi" is a Mongolian language, which means "teacher" and "document"; the original Mongolian written language is "biqikeqi", which is colloquially called "biqianqi" and "bixieqi"; it was named bixieqi when the village was formed in the Ming Dynasty; in 1923, a railway station was built when the Jingbao railway passed through the village, which is still in use today.
