It is a street under the jurisdiction of Siming District, Xiamen City, Fujian Province. It is located in the southeast of Xiamen City (Xiamen Island), adjacent to Nanputuo and Xiamen University in the East, across the sea from big and small Kinmen.

In May 1996, the administrative division was adjusted based on the former Rural Work Office of Siming District and some districts of Xiagang sub district. The district covers an area of 17.38 square kilometers and has a total population of 61611 people (in 2010).
