Yonghua Street

Yonghua road street, belonging to Lianchi District, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located in the southwest of Lianchi District, connected with Yuhua street in the East. It borders Nanguan street in the south, Jingxiu District in the West and Xiguan Street in the north. The sub district office is located at 340 Xinghua Road. The total area is 3.89 square kilometers and the total population is 43505 (2013).

In 1973, Yonghua street was set up. As of October 2019, Yonghua street has jurisdiction over 13 community neighborhood committees. The sub district office is located at 340 Xinghua Road.

By the end of 2013, there were more than 1400 commercial enterprises in Yonghua sub district. In 2018, the revenue from financial allocation was 8.117 million yuan, including 2.552 million yuan for general public services, 2.2435 million yuan for energy conservation and environmental protection, and 1.9537 million yuan for urban and rural communities.

Historical evolution

In 1973, Yonghua street was set up.

At the end of 1982, it had jurisdiction over nine neighborhood committees.

In 1986, it was adjusted to 13 residents' committees.

In January 1999, Xinghua Road and Xiaoliangshan neighborhood committee were assigned to Yuhua street; seven neighborhood committees, Lingyu temple, Jianda courtyard, Jiannan Yiju, Jiannan Erju, transport housing, railway Yiju Erju and Tiechang, were assigned to Beishi District, with 18 neighborhood committees under their jurisdiction.

In September 2001, 18 neighborhood committees were reorganized and merged into eight neighborhood committees, namely, Yonghua Middle Road, Lingyu temple, Jianhua South Road, railway, stadium, Huaijun office, Yuhua West Road and Tangjia Hutong.

In August 2005, the Grain Bureau neighborhood committee was separated from Jiannan neighborhood committee, and Xinghua neighborhood committee was separated from Shuishui neighborhood committee.

In November 2006, Jiandong neighborhood committee was separated from Lingyu Temple neighborhood committee.

In November 2013, two neighborhood committees, Shidai Xinyuan and huaqingcheng, were set up.

Ancient lotus pond

The ancient lotus pond, originally known as Xuexiang garden, was built in 1227. It covers an area of 32000 square meters, including 7900 square meters of water surface and 3680 square meters of building area. It was founded by Marshal Zhang Rou, king of Runan in Yuan Dynasty. Because the lotus in the lake has not declined over the years, it was called "ancient lotus pond" after the Ming Dynasty. In 1733, Li Wei, governor of Zhili, built the famous Lianchi Academy. Qianlong ten years (1745), the ancient lotus pool for the emperor's palace. In 1749, under the leadership of the governor of Zhili, Fang Guancheng, a large-scale reconstruction and construction of the ancient lotus pond was carried out, forming a magnificent "Twelve scenes of lotus pond", namely chunwupo, Huanan Yanbei thatched cottage, wanjuan tower, Gaofen Pavilion, Wanhong Pavilion, hechai, RuiChuang jingshe, Yitang, zaoyong tower, hanlvxuan, zhangliudong and hancang Pavilion.

On June 25, 2001, the ancient lotus pond was announced as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council of the people's Republic of China.
