Qiujiazhuang is 8.5 km away from meilihu sub district office. In Hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty, Qiu Decheng, a native of Zhucheng, came to settle here, so it was named Qiu Jiazhuang. It has been the beach of the Yellow River since ancient times. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, the Yellow River burst in the north of Qiuzhuang village and burst out a trench about 100 Zhang wide and more than 3 Zhang deep, commonly known as "qiujialaogou". Emperor Qianlong personally inspected and ordered to build dams and protect dykes to eradicate the Yellow River disease. "Qiujialaogou" has never been flooded or dry since then, and it has been a blessing to the local people. In order to give thanks to the "true Dragon Emperor" for his blessing to the people, he later called the "qiujialaogou" the "Meili Lake". Qiujialaogou, the source of Meili lake water system, covered an area of 10 square kilometers from 1950 to 1960, known as the reed marsh in the northwest of Jinan. Later, with the deposition of the Yellow River and the decrease of water resources, it gradually reduced to qiujialaogou, the source of Meili lake. Later, the villagers built dams and gates on low-lying water surface, built natural lake area, improved land and water surface, planted rice, raised fish and lotus root, and built the hometown of fish, rice and lotus root. In 1958, the original reed pond was officially named "Meili Lake".
