Zhonggang Town, subordinate to Yihuang County, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the middle of Yihuang County, adjacent to Tangyin town and zhenkou Township in the East, dongpi town and Huangpi town in the south, Erdu town and Huangpi town in the west, and Fenggang town in the north. With an area of 202.1 square kilometers, it governs 14 administrative villages, 1 community and 135 villager groups. In late 2018, there were 22 thousand and 600 registered residence population in the town of China and Hong Kong.

History of construction

In 1977, Donggang commune was established; in 1984, Zhonggang commune was renamed and township was changed in the same year; in November 2001, lanshui township was merged into Zhonggang township; in March 2011, Zhonggang township was abolished and Zhonggang town was established.

Zhonggang town is located in the middle of Yihuang County, adjacent to Tangyin town and zhenkou Township in the East, dongpi town and Huangpi town in the south, Erdu town and Huangpi town in the West and Fenggang town in the north. It covers an area of 202.1 square kilometers.

The landform in Zhonggang town inclines from southeast to west and North, with rolling hills in the north and high mountains in the southeast and West. The mountain area accounts for 70% and the hills account for 30%. The highest point is 1464 meters above sea level, and the lowest point is 110 meters above sea level.

Zhonggang town has four distinct seasons with an average annual temperature of 16.7 ℃. The annual average precipitation days are 173 days, and the annual precipitation is 1645mm. It is mainly distributed at the turn of spring and summer, and rare in autumn and winter. The frost free period is about 260 days.

The river course in Zhonggang town belongs to Ganjiang River system of the Yangtze River Basin. The main river is blue water, with a total length of 12 kilometers and a drainage area of 24.6 square kilometers.

Zhonggang town has 2067 hectares of cultivated land and 16400 hectares of mountain forest, including 4400 hectares of Moso bamboo. The forest coverage rate was 84.2%. The main plant resources are Taxus, ginkgo, pine, fir, cypress and so on. The main animal resources are water deer, Sumen antelope and goat.
