Xinmin Town

Xinmin Town, belonging to Binzhou City, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the northeast of the county. It borders qiupotou town in Xunyi County in the East, Tandian town in the south, Xiaozhang town in the west, Yongle Town in the north and Zhengning County in Gansu Province. The total area is 211.08 square kilometers.

As of June 2020, Xinmin Town has 32 administrative villages. As of 2018, Xinmin Town had a population of 78772 registered residence. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Xinmin Town reached 381.53 million yuan, the total industrial output value reached 393.66 million yuan, and the total retail sales of social consumer goods reached 182.5 million yuan.

Historical evolution

Before the Qing Dynasty, it was called shidianbao and Shidian town because of the shop opened by the surname Shi. In 1936, it was changed into Xinmin Town.

The Ming Dynasty belongs to panlongli.

In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to shengminli, which was called shidianbao.

In 1929, shengminli was under the jurisdiction of Dongqian district.

In 1933, Shidian Lianbao was established in Shidian town.

In 1936, it was renamed Xinmin Town.

In 1941, Xinmin Township was established.

In May 1950, Xinmin district (Second District) and Xinmin Township (second township) were established.

In March 1956, Xinmin Township was established after the district was withdrawn and the township was merged.

In 1958, Xinmin commune was established.

In 1984, Xinmin Town was established.

In 2002, caojiadian township was incorporated into the city.
