Shejing Township

Shejing Township, subordinate to QUANNAN County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located at the northernmost end of QUANNAN county. It borders Nanxiong City, Chongxian Township, Xinfeng County, Potou town and Longxia township of QUANNAN county. The township covers an area of 120 square kilometers and governs 7 administrative villages and 76 village groups. In late 2018, registered residence in the township had 13 thousand people.

By the end of 2018, there were 10 industrial enterprises and 6 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in shejing township.

Historical evolution

During the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty (1862-1874), Huang first established a Polder at shubian and shanjingkou, which was called laoshejing polder. In the early years of Guangxu, Liu, Li, Zeng, Zhou, yuan, Deng and Liu newly opened a Polder, which was called liuhewei.

In 1936, liuhewei was renamed shejingwei. Before liberation, shejingwei belonged to the Fourth District of QUANNAN county (Pitou District).

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, shejing Township belonged to shejing district; in 1958, shejing commune was established; in the winter of 1958, shejing commune was assigned to Bayi reclamation farm; in 1960, shejing commune was restored; in 1961, shejing commune and Jiangkou commune were set up separately; in 1968, Jiangkou commune was merged into shejing commune; in October 1972, shejing commune and Jiangkou commune were set up separately; in 1984, it was renamed shejing township; in 2001, Shangjing commune Jiangxiang was merged into shejing township.

Shejing township is rich in water resources. Taojiang River and huangtianjiang river run through the township. There are more than 10 reservoirs and power stations in the township.

Shejing township has 160000 mu of mountain forest and 10700 mu of cultivated land, with a forest coverage rate of more than 88%. There are abundant underground mineral resources, mainly including rare earth, fluorite, silicon, iron and other varieties, some of which have considerable reserves and high grade, and are easy to exploit.

History and culture

The Party group of the former dazengwu village in shejing township is the first Communist Party organization in shejing township. Under the banzhaizi village in Dangjing village, shejing township is the seat of the former Xinnan County Committee of the Communist Party of China.
