Baiyang Township
Baiyang Township, subordinate to Zhao'an County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, is located in the southwest of the county, adjacent to Xitan Township in the East, Jianshe Township in the north, Raoping County in Guangdong Province in the west, and Shenqiao town in the south. In 2017, the area was 53.54 square kilometers, with 28476 permanent residents.
As of 2019, Baiyang rural area has jurisdiction over 15 administrative villages (among which TingYang and Shenhu villages are inhabited by She ethnic minorities).
In 2017, Baiyang Township completed a fixed asset investment of 1.776 billion yuan, an increase of 33.3%; the gross value of scale industry was 948 million yuan, an increase of 5%; the per capita net income of farmers was 11450.76 yuan, an increase of 11%; and the fiscal and tax income was 12.0602 million yuan.
Historical evolution
In Song Dynasty, it belonged to the seaside of Anren township.
From Ming Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the fifth, seventh and twelfth map of the third capital.
In the late Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the third capital reform area. After the revolution of 1911, it still belonged to it.
In 1930, it merged with East Lake to form the third district.
In 1940, it was renamed the second district.
In 1949, the district was withdrawn and renamed Baiyang township.
In 1950, it belonged to the second district (later renamed the Fifth District).
In 1955, it was merged with the Sixth District and renamed Xitan district.
In 1958, the district was withdrawn and the township was designated as Baishi township.
In September 1958, it was incorporated into the happy people's Commune and put under the jurisdiction of Jianshe farm in the same year.
In 1961, it was separated out from the construction farm and put under the jurisdiction of Xitan district.
In 1964, it was withdrawn from Xitan people's commune.
In 1984, it was transferred to Xitan township.
In 1993, Baiyang township was established from Xitan township.
