Gaide town is located in the southwest of Dehua County, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, 6 kilometers away from the county. The population is 21234 (at the end of 2013). It has jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages. There are provincial cultural relics protection units Song Yuan ancient kiln site.

Historical evolution

Gaide commune was set up in 1961 and the township was changed in 1984. In 1997, with an area of 92.1 square kilometers and a population of 21000, it has jurisdiction over 14 village committees, including gaide, Wuhua, Xianling, Linlin, Shangdi, Dalong, Shanping, Sanfu, Fengshan, Xialiao, shangkeng, Xiakeng, Fuyang and Youji. on September 13, 2012, Fujian Provincial Government (minzhengwen No. 333) approved Dehua county to abolish the organizational system of gaide Township and establish gaide town. The former administrative region of gaide township is the administrative region of gaide Town, and the government residence remains unchanged.
