Jiuhe Township

Jiuhe township is located in the northeast of Pan'an County, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, 62 kilometers northeast of Anwen town. It borders Yushan Town in the East and North, Shanghu town in the southeast, Shuangxi Township in the southwest and Bada Township in Dongyang City in the West. It has 21 administrative villages, 66 villager groups and 2228 people (in 2017).

History of construction

Jiuhe, formerly known as Jiuru, was established in Nankeng village when township autonomy was implemented in the early Republic of China. Since there are nine baos in the township, the book of songs · Xiaoya · Tianbao states that "mountains like Fu, hills like mausoleum, and rivers like Fang Zhi It is as constant as the moon, as the rising of the sun, as longevity of Nanshan, as luxuriant as pines and cypresses... " There are nine "ru" characters in the article, which are named "Tianbao Jiuru" because of its auspicious meaning. In 1939 (the 28th year of the Republic of China), when Pan county was resettled, it changed its name to Jiuhe Township with the meaning of Jiubao harmony and auspiciousness. From Tang and Song Dynasties to the early Republic of China, Jiuhe township was established as the 29th capital of Yushan Township in Dongyang County, later known as the 29th capital township. In 1939 (28 years of the Republic of China), Pan'an County was established as Jiuhe Township, Yuhong District, Pan'an County. In December 1949, Jiuhe township was established in Shanghu Village (later moved to Qiaotou). In 1950, it was divided into Shanghu and Jiuhe townships. In 1954, Jiuhe township was divided into Nankeng township. In March 1956, Nankeng Township and Jiuhe Township were merged and named Jiuhe Township, which is located in Nankeng. in 1958, for the lighthouse commune (Shanghu) Jiuhe management area (brigade). In 1961, Yushan commune was set up as a district, and the former Jiuhe Management District was renamed Jiuhe commune. In February 1969, it was renamed Guangming commune. in October 1979, it was renamed Jiuhe commune. In 1983, after Pan'an County was restored, it was renamed Jiuhe Township, Yushan district. In 1992, the district was withdrawn and Jiuhe was a township directly under the county.

Local celebrities

In 1997, the Township People's government and surrounding villages installed cable TV. At the beginning of 1998, through the introduction of foreign funds, the construction of Dongwu power station began; at the end of the same year, the last administrative village completed the construction of mechanized roads, realizing the connection of mechanized roads to 21 administrative villages in the township.
