In 1947, laozhan Street belonged to Jiangdong District. In April 1980, the two Street reform committees of Zuo'an and Xinjian were merged into laozhan street. In 2011, the total population of laozhan street was 42356. As of June 2020, laozhan street has four communities under its jurisdiction, and its sub district office is located in Heping Road.
