[source] it is the whole grass of Xiangru, a Compositae plant.

[plant morphology] Xiangru

Herbaceous, 15-35 cm high. The stem has longitudinal edges. Leaves pinnate, lobes linear; root leaves with long stalks; stem leaves alternate with short stalks. Inflorescence small, yellow, heterosexual; involucre campanulate, bracts narrow, 2-row: receptacle with scales; marginal flower ligulate, female, 1-row; disk flower tubular, bisexual, 4-toothed; style of disk flower with long pointed branches. Achenes slender, 4-angled, apically with 2 stiff awns. It blooms in summer.

Born on the hillside and facing the sun. It is distributed in the south of China, Fujian and Taiwan.

Functions and indications: clearing heat and removing dampness. Treatment of heat stroke, diarrhea, dysentery, damp heat edema, gingivitis, back pain, herpes zoster.

[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 1-2 Liang. External use: mash juice and spread it.
