[plant morphology] Begonia palmatum

Perennial herbs, 25-30 cm high. The rhizome is red, hypertrophic and nodal, with fibrous roots. The leaf blade is nearly round, heart-shaped at the base, palmately divided, lobes 5-7, deeply notched, with sparse short bristles at the top and bottom, apex acuminate, margin serrate, 13-15 cm in length and 16-18 cm in width; petiole 12-20 cm in length, covered with sparse short hairs; stipules membranous, oval, apex obtuse. The flowers are red, 5-6 in 2-dichotomous cymes, monoecious, 18-20 cm long, glabrous and 1.5-2.5 cm long; the male flowers usually open first, with 4 perianths, 2 inside and outside, and most stamens; the female perianth is 5, with two bifurcated styles, the stigma is thick and wrinkled, hairy, 3-4 cm long, the ovary is smooth, with 3 wings, different sizes, the largest wing is triangular, the small wing is narrow and long, Room 2.
