Introduction to Yunxian County
Yunxian has numerous peaks and treasures among thousands of peaks. Since ancient times, Yunxian has had outstanding people and rich products. Among the 25 kinds of mineral resources in Shiyan City, Yunxian has 20 kinds, among which placer gold, blue stone cotton, alunite, white marble, chrysophane, dolomite, graphite and other mineral reserves rank first in the city. Special non-metallic turquoise has high grade, large reserves and a long history of mining. It enjoys a long reputation in the world jewelry industry and is known as "Oriental Emerald".
According to Yunyang Fu Zhi and mineral canon, turquoise is produced in Yungaisi mountain. The international trademark of turquoise jade carving, jade ware and jade ornament is: China cloud cover ancient
Temple. The mountain is tall and beautiful, rich in famous Turquoise at home and abroad. The thickness of turquoise deposit is 12.5 to 30 meters, and the average annual mining capacity is about 20 tons. There are overlapping mountains, vertical and horizontal gullies, ups and downs of streams, clouds and mists, complex topography and geology, changeable climate and dense vegetation, which form the geographical conditions for the formation of turquoise deposits. It is said that during the reign of Tang Zhenguan, Yuchi Gong built a temple in this mountain. Because the temple is located in a high terrain and often covered by clouds and fog, it is named yungai temple. This mountain is called yungai temple mountain.
Yungai temple was built early, which is evidenced by local folklore. There is a popular saying: first there was yungai temple, then there was Wudang Mountain. It is said that when Zhenwu was trained and became a Taoist, he found a place to build a temple along the mountain peak of the Qin and Ba dynasties. When he came to this mountain, he was very pleased with the magnificent momentum of clouds and fog, which was close to nine days. Unfortunately, there was already a temple, so he had to leave with a sigh. If this legend is true, it at least shows that the establishment of yungai temple was earlier than that of Ming Dynasty. It can be inferred from the ruins of the ruins and the collapse of the Buddha in a dry well that its glory was no less than 100 people. Pilgrims crowded the temple all the year round, and the water well on the other side was enough to show its past heyday. The temple was destroyed in the war. Zhao Bing, a local power who was stationed here and presided over the turquoise mining, had a fierce battle with the people's Liberation Army in the early days of liberation. Along the old site of the temple, we can see that there are strong defensive walls and shooting holes on the ridge nearly two miles away. Today, although the mountain wind is bleak and covered, the smoke of that year can still be seen.
Turquoise produced in Yungaisi mountain is a rare high-grade jade in the world. Among them, triclinic Chang crystal system is sky blue and turquoise green. The stone is delicate and looks like emerald. It is shining. It is known as "yungaishi" and "Emerald" in the world. For thousands of years, Yunxian turquoise has been regarded as a spiritual treasure by the world. It has the function of avoiding evil and transforming disaster. It is the "stone of success" endowed by nature. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, turquoise was listed as a treasure of "the seat above", far more than "Bixia rhinoceros", similar to "lapis lazuli", with a bright hook and two chest diaphragms. The rulers of past dynasties regarded her as the "spirit liquid" of the mountain god, prohibited mining gifts, and took Baoshi mountain as their own.
