Yungai Temple

Yungai temple is a thousand year old temple with a construction area of about 700 square meters, which sits from northeast to southwest. The two sides of the main hall are newly built houses. In the East are buildings and in the West are bungalows. There is the back door building (opposite to the front door building), the road leads to the mountains, there is a unique world, there are craggy rocks near, the next spring is endless, covered by ancient trees.

Yungaisi mountain is located in Baoxia town in the south of Yunxian County, about 55 km away from Shiyan of Checheng county. Folklore

Yungai temple was built early, which is evidenced by local folklore. There is a popular saying: first there was yungai temple, then there was Wudang Mountain. It is said that when Zhenwu was trained and became a Taoist, he found a place to build a temple along the mountain peak of the Qin and Ba dynasties. When he came to this mountain, he was very pleased with the magnificent momentum of clouds and fog, which was close to nine days. Unfortunately, there was already a temple, so he had to leave with a sigh. If this legend is true, it at least shows that the establishment of yungai temple was earlier than that of Ming Dynasty. It can be inferred from the ruins of the ruins and the collapse of the Buddha in a dry well that its glory was no less than 100 people. Pilgrims crowded the temple all the year round, and the water well on the other side was enough to show its past heyday. The temple was destroyed in the war. Zhao Bing, a local power who was stationed here and presided over the turquoise mining, had a fierce battle with the people's Liberation Army in the early days of liberation. Along the old site of the temple, we can see that there are strong defensive walls and shooting holes on the ridge nearly two miles away. Today, although the mountain wind is bleak and covered, the smoke of that year can still be seen.
