Guo Yuanxiang

Guoyuan township is located in the southeast of Jiuzhaigou County, bounded by yezhuguanliang and chaimenguan in the northeast, Wenxian County in Gansu Province, Caozhou Township in the south, Wujiao Township, Shuanghe town and Nanping Town in the West and North. It covers an area of 135.95 square kilometers, with an altitude of 1262m. The whole Township is in the shape of pig liver, with large forest coverage. The main tree species are spruce, fir and paimu. The township government is located in Guoyuan village, 25km away from the county seat. It has jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages, 10 villager groups and 4796 people (2017). Every village has access to water, radio and television, and 7 villages have access to cars. There are tap water supply facilities, health centers, radio and television stations, one central primary school and seven village primary schools. The tourist attractions include "the key of Qin and Shu" and "the junction of Qin and Shu".

Economic situation

In 2002, the total income of the rural economy of the township was 4.601 million yuan, the net income per capita was 852 yuan, the cultivated land area was 3643 mu, the grain planting area was 7346 mu, and the grain output was 1358 tons. Grain crops include corn, wheat, potato and a small amount of rice; economic crops include rape, Codonopsis pilosula, vegetables, sugar beet and tobacco, especially the output of sea pepper, which occupies an important economic position in the county; economic trees include apple, pear, peach, cherry, jujube, grape, machine handle, persimmon, walnut, Chinese prickly ash and lacquer tree. In 2003, according to the regional characteristics, Guoyuan Township adjusted measures to local conditions and made use of the characteristics close to the county seat to drive the common development of other industries in the township with the development strategy of "high yam, banshanjiao, Heba grain and vegetable".
