Jiuxiang ancient town

Jiuxiang Town, Hanyuan County, Sichuan Province, has a very famous stone archway, which is located on the Guanma avenue of the ancient Southern Silk Road. Along this Guanma Avenue, about one mile to the north, is the famous Hanyuan street in ancient Qingxi county.

Drama and stone carving

Jiuxiang stone archway was built in the 29th year of Daoguang in Qing Dynasty, which lasted for 9 years. The whole archway integrates the Sichuan Opera Art of ancient Chinese opera into one. According to the theme of "loyalty, filial piety, chastity and righteousness", 48 traditional Sichuan Opera are carved. There are 169 reliefs and more than 570 large and small figures, either alone or in a group, but they are all natural and real, with clear features and different postures.

The architectural form of the whole stone archway is very peculiar, highlighting the integration of local culture and Buddhist culture. Although it looks unique and novel, it fully reflects the ancient culture's remoteness and the Chinese nation's virtue of inclusiveness.

Chengdu shiyangchang bus station has buses to Jiuxiang every day, and the ticket price is about 80.

Chengdu Hehuachi bus station - Jiuxiang Town, Hanyuan County, departs at 12:30 noon, sleeper bus arrives at about 8 pm, and the ticket price is 48 yuan / person.

The train from Chengdu railway station to Xichang and Panzhihua gets off at wusihe railway station with a ticket of 25 yuan. Wusihe - Fulin town of Hanyuan County - Jiuxiang bus station (all minicars). There is a special cultural tourism service center opposite Jiuxiang bus station to guide you.

Board and lodging

There are two hotels in the town, 60-200 yuan per room and 5-15 yuan per person.

It is a special snack: squeezed noodles (made of buckwheat flour and pressed with wooden sticks, so it is called "squeezed noodles"), iron stinky tofu (fried in a damaged iron pan), and dumplings. You can also eat Hanyuan ice powder in Jiuxiang in summer, which is very special and delicious. Jiuxiang Sydney is a famous local fruit in Hanyuan.
