The former site of the Japanese Consulate General in Kazakhstan is a yellow building on the second floor at 108 Red Army Street. Now it is Harbin Railway Foreign Trade Company. Seven or eight years ago, this exquisite building served as the Harbin Office of Nanman Railway Co., Ltd. and the Japanese Consulate General. It was the largest organization of Japanese imperialists' colonial aggression against China and a den for killing Anti Japanese patriots.
In 1906, Japan established Nanman Railway Co., Ltd. in Northeast China, which is the largest Japanese Colonial Enterprise in China. In the nearly 40 years from 1906 to 1945, "Manchurian Railway" extensively engaged in aggressive activities on the basis of occupying China's railways under the guise of "operating railways". The association is a comprehensive industrial economic development organization with transportation as the center. In addition to operating the Nanman railway and Fushun coal mine, it also operates automobiles, trams, shipping, docks, construction, electric power, oil production, etc. In 1925, the Harbin Office of Nanman Railway Co., Ltd. moved to No. 108, Hongjun street, which is now located in Harbin.
Harbin Office of Nam man Railway Co., Ltd. was changed into Japanese Consulate General in Kazakhstan in 1936. Its function has also changed. According to the records, there is an extra high Department of the police department in the building, which belongs to the secret service system of the Japanese Ministry of foreign affairs. At the same time, a basement detention center was set up to accommodate more than 100 people.
