Duzheng Street

Duzheng street, located in the south of Jiefang Road, Furong district, Changsha City, Hunan Province, is one of the old streets in Changsha City. In the street, there is a study school in memory of Comrade Mao Zedong's early revolutionary activities.

Duzheng street is also the name of a neighborhood office in Furong district, which takes the name of the road as the name of the office. Duzheng Street sub district office is bounded by Furong Road in the East, caie South Road in the west, Jiefang West Road in the north and Tianxin District in the south. Duzheng street is located in the west of Furong District of Changsha City, adjacent to Tianxin Pavilion, the commanding height of the ancient city. The total length of the street is more than 300 meters. It is one of the better preserved historical streets in Changsha. In the early Qing Dynasty, Dusi yamen was built here, hence the name of Duzheng street. From the late Qing Dynasty to the period of the Republic of China, Duzheng street was densely populated and prosperous. Now, there are still cultural relics such as Zhanwang palace and taohuajing, old streets such as Xianzheng street and qingxiangliu, and old city relics such as gunpowder Bureau archway. In October 2013, the government renovated Duzheng street in accordance with the principle of not demolishing and building, not destroying the street system, not destroying the ecological environment of residents, not destroying the historical context, not destroying the original architectural style, so as to make the old block rejuvenate.
