Historical evolution

Leiyang Academy was founded in 1636.

In 1902, it was renamed Leizhou middle school.

In 1904, normal education was established.

In 1913, it was renamed Leizhou middle school.

In 1926, it was renamed the 10th Middle School of Guangdong Province.

In 1935, it was renamed Leizhou Normal School of Guangdong Province.

In 1954, the school moved to Cunjin Road, Zhanjiang City.

In 1958, it was renamed Zhanjiang teachers college.

In 1968, it was renamed Leizhou normal school in Zhanjiang.

In 1978, Leizhou normal school and Zhanjiang advanced education school were merged to form Leizhou normal college.
