Shanmei village, formerly known as "shamiji", is one of the few traditional tribes of Zou nationality in Alishan. The whole village is located in the huge cliff of xiongshan mountain. The danaigu river flows continuously on the side of the village. The scenery is very clear and beautiful. In recent years, this isolated mountain village has attracted more and more attention from all walks of life because of its magnificent danaigu River and its rich national treasure, XENOCYPRIS.

Danaigu river is the upstream of Zengwen river. It flows from the central mountain range 3200 meters high and flows through the mountains. On both sides of the river, a large area of primitive valley forest is formed, which contains abundant animal and plant resources. This primitive mountain forest used to be the traditional hunting ground of Zou people.

Danaigu natural ecological park is equipped with a management station, a fish appreciation trail, a viewing Pavilion, and an outdoor song and dance square where the performance venue of the XENOCYPRIS Festival is located. There are three fish watching areas planned. The first and second areas are located on the right bank of danayi valley. At the end, there is a danayi Valley suspension bridge across the stream. The danayi Valley is cut down at an angle of 60 degrees. The current is fast and there are huge stones, forming a magnificent river terrace landscape. The suspension bridge It is the best viewing facade; after crossing the bridge, continue to pass the third fish viewing area, so that you can return to the origin of the management station.

Take the Jiayi county bus to Shizhuo, Dabang and Alishan from Jiayi railway station, get off at Longmei, and then walk or take the local farm van. It is about 10.6 km from Longmei to Shanmei.

Traffic information: driving:

1. South No.2 High: xiazhongpu interchange Road, then tai18 provincial road, i.e. Alishan highway uphill, to Longmei and Shanmei village, about one hour.

2. Zhongshan high: go down Jiayi interchange road → 159 county road to Jiayi city → Yantai No.18 Provincial Road (Shixian Road, Wufeng South Road) to Alishan Road, go up the mountain → to Longmei (about 36 km), turn right to Shanmei village, about one hour to get there.
