Shaofeng scenic spot

Shaofeng scenic spot is located in Chongnan of Shaoshan, about 3km away from Mao Zedong's former residence, with an altitude of 520m. It is the first peak of Shaoshan, also known as Xianfeng peak. Because of its unique beauty in the embrace of the mountains, it has always been a wonderful legend that "if you look down on the mountains from the top, you will be able to see the descendants, and if you look at the Dongting of Nanyue, you will be able to see both.".

Shaofeng has beautiful scenery. There are eight ancient sceneries: Shaofeng shucui, Yanzhi ancient well, dunshichengmen, Shiwu Qingfeng, taling Qingxia, xiannvmaoan, Fengyi Pavilion and Shibi flowing water. It is the 71st peak of Nanyue mountains, more than 200 meters higher than Yunlu peak of Changsha Yuelu Mountain, the 72nd peak.

Shaofeng scenic spot is located 20 kilometers north of Mianchi County. The main peak is 1492.9 meters above sea level. It is also known as' Yunmen mountain 'because the hillside is often surrounded by clouds and mist, rising up like clouds.

Shaoshan is full of mountains and valleys. There are 35 big and small mountains. Besides the main peak, Wangduo mountain, Guanshan Mountain and maijin mountain are the most famous. More than 10 kilometers away from the northern foot of the mountain is a precipice with natural barriers. Only three places can be barely climbed. In the northwest, there is a long ridge like Loach's back. The clouds and mist curl up and down, and people walk through the clouds and fog. From the top of the mountain, you can see the green mountains and the strange stones. With a long roar, the mountains ring and the valley ring, and the lingering sound lingers. At the end of spring, Robinia pseudoacacia flowers are in full bloom, and the mountain is covered with silver; in summer, broad-leaved forests join branches, and the mountain is lush; at the end of autumn, the hillside is red; in winter, pine forests are dotted, adding vitality to Shaoshan.

Main attractions

There is a Yunmen temple on the south side of the main peak. It was built in the first year of song Jiayu (1056 AD). It has a large roof and colorful tiles. The buildings are marvelous, with carved beams and painted buildings. After the war, the original appearance has changed. There is a clear spring in the west of the temple, which is not overflowing, not flowing, not drying up, for tourists to drink.

There are many rare game in Shaoshan: red fruit, yellow persimmon, purple grape, pecan, wild boar, mountain deer, Swertia, badger, wolf, etc. There are more than 200 kinds of medicinal materials, known as "half a medicine cabinet". It is said that Shennong tasted all kinds of herbs and came here.
