Linyi planning exhibition hall was officially opened to the public free of charge on November 16, 2009. In 2015, the urban master planning model of the exhibition hall was rated as "influential urban planning model", ranking first in the national municipal planning exhibition hall.

Since the construction of the museum started in July 2009, it took only 106 days to complete the construction and Exhibition tasks, which is a high-quality and efficient "100 day project".

The exhibition is divided into two layers and four chapters, showing the vein of literature, the victory of water, the prosperity of Commerce and the beauty of the city. The exhibition area on the first floor is composed of four parts: the ancient city hall, the red hall, the water city hall and the mall hall, focusing on the urban characteristics of the mall, the water city and the historical and cultural city. The exhibition area on the second floor consists of nine parts: general planning department, special planning department, cultural tourism department, Beicheng new area department, old city reconstruction department, new rural construction department, construction achievement department, nine County Department and publicity interactive area, which mainly displays planning achievements and construction achievements. At the same time, the museum also has a wall hanging model of "big water city", a three-dimensional model of water corridor, a master planning model, a 180 degree ring screen cinema, an electronic reference book, and a water curtain corridor.
