Xie Gongting

There was an ancient stone pavilion more than 1000 years ago at the southeast riverside at the foot of Xita mountain in Yongjia, Zhejiang Province. When Xie Lingyun was appointed as the governor of Yongjia in Jin Dynasty, he often visited the islands in the middle of the river and watched in the pavilion. Later generations named this pavilion "Xie Gong Pavilion" in memory of him.

In Tang Dynasty, Song Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty, there were many times of abandonment and construction, and many times of reconstruction in Ming and Qing Dynasty. The modern Xiegong pavilion was rebuilt in 1952 and renovated in 1977. It is decorated with six corners, a pointed roof, yellow glazed tiles and vermilion columns. In 1981, the pavilion was listed as the first batch of cultural relics protection units in Wenzhou.

When visitors come here to have a rest, they can see the waves rolling and rolling on the river, the boats fighting for the current, the gulls flying, the trees shading by the pavilion, and the river breeze blowing cool. There are stone steps beside the pavilion. You can go to Shating by the river to pick up shells and catch Pengqi, shixie'er and Dake cave. It's very interesting.

There are several pavilions on the island in the middle of the river. Like Xie GONGTING, it is a good place to look at Lucheng, enjoy the scenery of the river, listen to the rhythm of the tide and cherish the memory of the ancients.
