Zhaoqing Duanzhou library is a national (county) public library, formerly known as Gaoyao County Library, founded in 1956. The library has a collection capacity of 400000 volumes, and now has a collection of 200000 volumes.

Introduction to Library

Zhaoqing Duanzhou library is a national (county) public library, formerly known as Gaoyao County Library, founded in 1956. The new museum, completed in 1987, is located on the Bank of Baoyue Hexiang, one of the eight scenic spots in Zhaoqing City. With a construction area of 3450 square meters, it is a five-and-a-half story building of Quchi type.

There are 18 staff in the library, including 12 with college education or above, 5 with intermediate title and 13 with primary title.

The library has a collection capacity of 400000 volumes, and now has a collection of 200000 volumes. Adhering to the tenet of "readers first, service first", the library is open all week, providing multi-channel and multi-level services to the society through reading, lending, consulting, holding exhibitions, lectures, story meetings, etc. There are seven reading rooms (more than 500 seats), four libraries, one reading area for the disabled, one self-study room and one lecture room (which can accommodate more than 200 people). All reading rooms are fully open shelf. The multimedia reading room can be used for readers to surf the Internet, watch multi-media software, optical discs and carry out computer training.

Since the introduction of "Zhongshan Library Management System of Guangdong Province" in early 1996, the library has established a LAN after several innovations. Now it uses "eLib integrated library management system" of Dongguan library to realize the computerized management of book and periodical acquisition, cataloging, circulation and public retrieval. The Internet website of the library was built and put into use in August 2002.

Service Introduction
