Zhuyu Bay scenic spot

Zhuyuwan scenic spot is located in dongshouwantou Town, Yangzhou, covering an area of about 50 hectares. It is adjacent to shaobohu in the north, Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal in the West and Xiannv town in the East.

According to the records of rebuilding Yangzhou Prefecture, "Liu Bi, the king of Wu and Han Dynasties, opened this lingcang (which was used as a starting point to excavate Han Dynasty to communicate with Taizhou)", so there was Zhuyu village in the north of the place, and it was planted all over the place, so it was named after Zhuyu, and there was a curve here, so the name of "Zhuyu bay" began.

In 2011, zhuyuwan was rated as a national 4A tourist attraction, and in 2014, it was rated as the ecological civilization education base of Jiangsu Province.

The scenic area (Park) will be open to the public from March 21, 2020. Tourists need to scan the "Yangzhou citizens travel registration" QR code, or show their ID card for real name registration, and wear masks.

Historical evolution

Zhuyu Bay is 20 miles northeast of the city, and it is the first one in the famous Bay. The Hangou River, which was opened by the king of Han and Wu Dynasty, started from Zhuyu Bay, Yangzhou, Tonghai lingcang and Rugao Panxi.

In the fourth year of Renshou in the Sui Dynasty, the canal was opened again.

In the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Zhuyu Bay was the gateway of the canal to Yangzhou and an important dock in China. Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty went to Yangzhou three times. Japanese monks Rongrui and Puzhao came to Yangzhou in 642 AD and invited Jianzhen to go eastward. In 839, Buddhist monk Yuanren came to China from there.

The ancient Zhuyu Bay is located in the main point, and it is an important stronghold to guard the canal. Every time there is a war, it becomes a place for military strategists. At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, the soldiers of the Yuan Dynasty invaded Yangzhou, and its main force was stationed here.

In the Qing Dynasty, Sichuan army and Ying Yanji army were also sent to gather in zhuyuwan and Wayaopu. The Taiping Army guarded Yangzhou and often attacked the Qing army. Zhuyuwan was one of the active strongholds.

In 2008, Zhuyu Bay applied for national 4A scenic spot. The scenic spot increased the construction of tourism infrastructure, and comprehensively transformed Zhuyu forest, Heming lake, peony garden and animal exhibition area.

In 2009, in line with the success of the landscape improvement plan of Zhuyu Bay herbivore area, sika deer was relocated to expand its residence.

In 2011, Zhuyu Bay successfully applied for national 4A scenic spot.

Location context

Zhuyu Bay is located in Wantou town in the east of Yangzhou City, adjacent to the ancient canal in the East, the Grand Canal in the west, Shaobo Lake in the north and Jiangdu water control project in the south. The total area of the scenic spot is 50 hectares.

climate

Zhuyu Bay belongs to the north subtropical humid climate zone, and the prevailing wind direction changes with seasons. It has four distinct seasons, mild climate and long frost free period.

hydrology

There are many water systems in Zhuyu Bay. The Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal, Mangdao River and liaojiagou River divide the bay head into two plates and form three convenient water transportation channels. This is the first ferry for water traffic to Yangzhou.

Heming Lake

Heming lake is the opening water scenery of the scenic spot, which was originally a waterfowl lake. The whole lake is mainly divided into three areas: ecological waterfowl exhibition area, wading bird exhibition area and pheasant exhibition area. Among them, the wading bird exhibition area is divided into crane viewing area, flamingo viewing area and Swan viewing area. There are more than 30 species and nearly 1300 rare waterfowl in Heming lake, among which the crane is the most eye-catching.

Hefengqu Bridge

Hefengqu bridge is a curved bridge in the shape of imitation tree stumps beside the ancient Yunhe river. The bridge is 100 meters long. It is said that in the Tang Dynasty, it was a wonderful place to "watch the lotus on a stone seat". In the fish pond of quqiao, tens of thousands of Japanese Koi and other ornamental goldfish are kept.

Monkey Island

Monkey Island is on the north side of waterfowl lake. It is built according to the idea of Huaguo Mountain described in journey to the West. It is surrounded by water on all sides and surrounded by a forest of pond fir. The "main peak" of the mountain is as high as 10 meters. Below it are three big characters of "water curtain cave" carved in seal stone. In the East and west of Monkey Island, there are barrier free wooden viewing platforms for monkey viewing.

Beast Garden

There are rockeries and waterfalls in the park. "Beast garden" is divided into three parts, "Lion Garden" and "Tiger Garden" are built adjacent to each other, "bear garden" is built in the north of "beast garden", opposite to "Lion Garden" and "Tiger Garden".

Herbivore area

The ecological herbivore area can be reached by turning southward and left from the beast garden and walking along the gravel path. In April 2009, the renovation of the new animal house in the herbivore area was completed. More than ten kinds of herbivores, such as sika deer, zebra, elk and goat, were "mixed" together in the wild for tourists to watch.

Sea Lion Performance Hall

The sea lion show hall is the exhibition center of marine animals. The hall adopts steel structure top open skylight collection design, which has good natural brightness in the daytime. The grandstand at an angle of more than 270 degrees can accommodate more than 500 spectators, and the green transparent weather boards are covered above the auditorium, so that the performance is not affected by the natural climate. The stage of the pavilion is set with panoramic blue sky and blue sea curtain wall, equipped with South African plants. At the beginning of the performance, stereo sound with sea sound will be played.

Peony Garden

Peony viewing area is the largest garden in zhuyuwan scenic area. The scenic spot has hundreds of varieties and tens of thousands of peony plants, and has formed a certain scale, becoming the venue of Yangzhou peony festival.

Plum blossom mountain

Plum blossom mountain is located in the west of the middle part of Zhuyu Bay scenic area, which is the highest part of Zhuyu Bay scenic area. There are dozens of plum varieties, such as Guhong, Wumei and Yangzhou Huang, planted around Meihua Mountain, and there are thousands of plum trees, which belong to the place with the largest number of plum trees planted in Yangzhou.

Cornus officinalis

There are 5 species of Cornus officinalis, Evodia rutaecarpa, Cornus officinalis, Corallium Sajin and Corallium Myrtle in Zhuyu Bay, and 10 species of Cornus officinalis, including 5 newly introduced species of Dengtai tree, Cornus guangpi, sizhaohua, hongduanmu and qingjiaoye. Evodia rutaecarpa and Cornus officinalis are Rutaceae plants, the other eight species are Cornaceae plants. In addition to golden coral and peach leaf coral are ground cover plants, other plants or shrubs, or large and small trees, the number of planting is more than 100.

origin

Zhuyuwan scenic spot is located in Wantou Town, northeast suburb of Yangzhou city. Wantou town was once known as Zhuyu village and Zhuyu Bay in ancient times because it was rich in dogwood trees. It was also known as Wankou and Wantou because the ancient canal turned here.

legend

The site of "shizuoguanhe" in Tang Dynasty is a witness of the spread of Yangzhou culture from east to west. It's about monk Jianzhen, a famous monk in Tang Dynasty. When he came ashore from Zhuyu Bay in 714, he was attracted by the fragrance of the lotus pond in Zhuyu Bay. He bent down to pick a blooming red lotus and a white lotus, hid them in his arms and took them to the lotus pond of Daming Temple for planting. The next year, many "Lotus stone blocks" emerged at Tangbian. Since then, monk Jianzhen has never been to Zhuyu Bay, and the lotus planted in the lotus pond has been green. Later, he went to Fusang for the sixth time and brought lotus to Nara, Japan. It blossomed and fruited in tangzhaoti temple, a foreign country. It became a symbol of friendship between the Chinese and Japanese people - tangzhaoti Temple lotus and tangzhaoti Temple green lotus. "Stone seat to watch Lotus" became the favorite scenery of zhuyuwan people, which has been handed down to this day.

Zhuyuwan by Zhang Youxue: in Sui Dynasty, there was such a way to pass through the water channel, and Jiangcun had to draw a picture to separate Pingwu. Zhongxing is still flying in the northwest. Xiaoer's whip is broken.

Kong Shangren's "Guo Wan tou": Zhuyu Wan tou's way back is on credit, and his song ends with wine, and the sun slants to the West.

Cultural Activity

Peony Festival

On April 29, 2008, the 5th peony festival and "zhuyuwan cup photography competition" in zhuyuwan, Yangzhou officially started. Every May is the time when peony flowers bloom in zhuyuwan scenic area, with 100000 peony flowers in full bloom.

Cornus Culture Festival

Zhuyuwan held the first "China Yangzhou Cornus Culture Festival" in 2011 Chongyang Festival, showing the history, culture and dozens of products of Cornus officinalis. Zhuyuwan has formed the largest ornamental "dogwood forest" in China. There are a variety of Evodia rutaecarpa, Cornus officinalis and Cornus officinalis, with a total of more than 1500 trees and an area of more than 30 mu.

Spring flower fair

In April 2014, zhuyuwan scenic area launched the "spring flower fair" to lead the green and low-carbon Qingming atmosphere of modern people: flowers such as honghuajimu, chuisi Begonia, Bauhinia, hongyeli and peach blossom compete to open.
