Shanxiang park has a large scale. Pingdingshan is a place that must be contested by ancient and modern military strategists. In the early Ming Dynasty, the generals Ma Yun and Ye Wang of dragon and tiger, who had little war, were here. In the fourth year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty, the Jurchen army of Jianzhou crossed Yahu pass and invaded Benxi. Hu Zhen, the commander of Liaozhong garrison of Ming army, set up an ambush here. The enemy was strong. Although the general of Ming Dynasty resisted bravely, because he was outnumbered, all the 56 generals under Hu Zhen died. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, the two imperialists of Japan and Russia were conflicted because of the uneven distribution of spoils, and they fought in our territory, where the sound of guns was even louder. According to the historical relics of the three eastern provinces, in the early Qing Dynasty, the chivalrous man Shen Tan Li Wu was shamed of being an upright official and lived in seclusion in the "Jade Emperor Pavilion" of Pingdingshan. Up to now, there are still two VATS in a temple, and the well water he drank is still clear. Bai Yongzhen, a scholar of Liaoyang and Bagong in the late Qing Dynasty, once left him a stone carving with 12 words: "Yingfeng is eternal", "Xuanji is supreme" and "Wufang is a warning to the world". His chivalrous spirit aroused the admiration and memory of later generations.

Today, this peak, which has experienced all the vicissitudes of life, has changed its appearance. An asphalt road leads from the south of the mountain to the peak, and the towering TV transmitting tower stands on the top of the mountain. People who have lived in the city for a long time often climb the mountain together during festivals and holidays. In order to develop Pingdingshan tourism resources, Benxi City has newly built Pingdingshan cableway, which is more convenient for Pingdingshan tourism.

Benxi Pingdingshan, formerly known as "Qingyun Mountain" and "Pingding Mountain", with an altitude of 657 meters (661.2 meters on the ropeway ticket, yet to be verified), covers an area of 17 square kilometers. It is a beautiful "mountain in the city", like a bright pearl inlaid in the prosperous landscape of Yandong, standing proudly in the mountain city, witnessing the great changes of the mountain city. It tells the history and shows the future to the people of the mountain city.

Looking at the history, we can see that as early as 3000 years ago, there were ancient humans in Pingdingshan. It is said that the younger sister of Gai Suwen, the red robed governor of the Tang Dynasty, was stationed in the mountains to build barracks and dug "seven wells", only four of which were preserved. The ancient wells of the Tang Dynasty, which still come out of the water, are the earliest records of the places that Pingdingshan military strategists must fight for, which verifies the theory of "Bingshan" in Pingdingshan. The ancient city wall site of the Yuan Dynasty on the top of the mountain tells us about the golden age and iron horse, witnessing the rise and fall and evolution of history, It shows us the cultural heritage of Liaodong for thousands of years and the cultural accumulation of the city for nearly one hundred years. The military blockhouses, tunnels and bunkers left during the Russo Japanese War and the war of liberation in the Qing Dynasty are the direct historical witness of the Pingdingshan campaign and the war of liberation of Benxi.
