Xinjie town

Xinjie Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Guanyang County, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the middle of Guanyang County, bordering Jiangyong County in Hunan Province in the East and Huangguan Town, Xishan Yao Township and Guanyang town in the county in the south, West and North, with a total area of 167.8 square kilometers. In the Western Han Dynasty, it was the city of Guanyang county. In April 2013, Xinjie was changed from township to town. By the end of 2018, Xinjie town has a total population of 44000, including 39000 agricultural population, inhabiting Han, Zhuang, Yao, Hui, Yi and other ethnic groups. By the end of 2019, Xinjie town has 21 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the town government is located in Xinjie.

History of construction

In the Western Han Dynasty, it was the city of Guanyang county.

In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Chuanshan fort, Jiangkou fort and Shizibao respectively.

During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Longshan fort, Jiangkou fort, Shizibao, Shilong Township and Longjiang township.

In 1954, it belonged to the urban area of huangniu.

In 1955, a new block was set up.

In 1957, it was changed into Xinjie Township and Jiangkou township.

In 1958, Xinjie Township and Jiangkou Township were merged into Xinjie people's commune.

In 1984, it was changed into Xinjie township.

In April 2013, Xinjie was changed from township to town.

In Xinjie Town, there are Jiangkou "February 7" farm tool culture tourism festival, Tang Jingsong's former residence guessing street, Shifeng village "February 2" dragon head, Longzhong village folk culture festival, etc.

Former residence of Tang Jingsong

Tang Jingsong's former residence was built in the Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty, covering an area of 410 square meters. It is a brick and wood structure, decorated with small green tiles and blue gray walls. It is divided into upper and lower buildings, with vestibule, main court, wing room, patio, etc. the beams, Fang, lintel, etc. are carved with character stories, dragon, Phoenix, flowers, grass, insects and fish. The walls on both sides are painted with blue gray. The top of the wall is decorated with Double Dragons, Tai Chi and eight trigrams. The front of the house is wide and quiet, with an ancient well and a dense bamboo forest. In 2002, the people's Government of Guanyang County listed the former residence as a cultural relic protection unit at the county level. In 2017, it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Famous people

The famous figures in Xinjie town are Tang Jingsong, Tang Jingchong and Tang Jinggu, who have successively won the imperial examinations and appointed the Hanlin, becoming the only "three fellow Hanlin" in Guangxi.
