Yuxuyan of Wudang Mountain is located in Wudang Mountain Tourism Special Economic Zone, Shiyan City, Hubei Province, also known as yugongya.

brief introduction

It is about 1.5km east of Tianjin bridge in Wudang Mountain and on the cliff on the North Bank of jiudujian. It is one of the large-scale and well preserved rock temples in Wudang Mountain. According to the existing inscriptions in the third year of the Yuan Dynasty (1337), this rock was built in 1324, the first year of the reign of emperor Wudang. The statues of emperors and Leibu gods in Zhongfeng were created in the first year of Zhishun (1330). They were either worshipped in the temple or set up against the rock. They are resplendent and majestic. Later, due to years of disrepair, the original building collapsed. The existing buildings are renovated in the late Qing Dynasty. The statues of Zhenwu, his attendants and five hundred Lingguan are all rebuilt in the Tongzhi period, but the Leibu gods still have the style of Yuan Dynasty. It's said that Zhenwu was trained here, and later he got the way to rise. He was named "yuxu Shixiang". There is also Wudang Mountain Taoist Yu Shengzhe who once practiced here, so it is also called "Yu Gongyan". This rock is suspended in the middle of the cliff, flying to the deep valley, the cave water is pouring, the sound is as loud as thunder, the lift leads to look up, the cliff is sandwiched with the shore, the trees are deep, just like the sky opens a line. To the East, you can see the Golden Hall standing on the top of Tianzhu peak between the peaks on both sides of the Strait, shining with gold, which is very spectacular.

1.5 km along the South Bank of Jianhe river leads to yuxuyan. Yuxuyan is one of the large and well preserved rock temples in Wudang Mountain. According to the inscriptions of the Yuan Dynasty, this rock was the place where emperor Xuandi (i.e. emperor Zhenwu) practiced. Later, it got the name of "yuxu Shixiang". The existing buildings were rebuilt in the late Qing Dynasty. Zhonggong Zhenwu statue, left and right attendants and 500 Lingguan were all rebuilt in the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty.
